holidays are approaching and as you have seen, these days the pace of publication of Blog-o-corp has declined slightly. Come on, I'm not posting much as I like. It is "prevacacional effect", you know, the one who said that before going on vacation is to leave everything over and securely fastened, and of course, this increase the volume (and hence the speed) of work considerably. If we add that I am finishing my adventure summer profile (which will give you more information soon), because the truth is that time is not enough. However, I hope to return in this adventure full of energy and many new to tell, because I hope to learn a lot and I promise to share:) We learn by sharing, as always remember Marc .
Before you get the announcement of my summer adventure, want to share with you some interesting titles that I have discovered in recent months and I think it may be good reading for the holidays. Some I have already spoken, others I have yet to write a review. In any case, here's the proposal:
- Nicholas Carr The big switch. Ediciones Deusto.
- Mendiola Daniel Cordoba. Coolhunting. Management 2000.
- Paul Guillin. New influential. Editorial LID. George P.

Pain In Left Side Of Neck
still analyzing the results of the study new professional profiles that we have made in recent months.
We saw that the defendant is the profile of Community Manager but, beyond the specific posts, what competencies required by professionals of communication and marketing of the future? According to the study participants, include these:
- knowledge of technological tools
- digital skills
- flexibility and ability to adapt the changes (which are and will be a constant)
- creativity innovation capacity
- a team player and distance, so do not face ethics
- critical capacity to discern what is worth what is not (before the proliferation of sources and content).
Some are more related to the current changing environment with proper communication and marketing, but what is clear is that the key is flexibility to be able to constantly adapt, because the changes are as a continuum in our society .
For other competitions, such as knowledge of tools technology and its application in the sector, training is very useful. This summer, some courses have been held on these issues and supply is growing. Recently I discovered that in January 2010 will begin the first edition of Web Master: Communication, Marketing and Business of the Autonomous University of Barcelona . News like this are always good, because they confirm that there is growing interest on the communication 2.0.

Interview with Rafael Martinez, Director of Marketing on line of Hotel Auditorium Madrid, that blog just launched :
"If the company is represented corporate purposes, there that "embody" the brand all what can "
What is your exact fee?
My job, exactly, is the Director of Online Marketing. As you can imagine, this designation involves many actions, including several specializations in
- Shares of Social Media - Monitoring the presence and image of the hotel in different social media Web 2.0, shares of e-mail marketing and management newsletters.
- Reputation Management Online - Security and interactivity as to what is said about us in the Red
- SEO - Search engine optimization, both technical and human, that is, using all means at our disposal to position our website as close to the first position based on key words.
- Campaigns Manager Online Marketing - Using social media, on one side and "Ad Words" by another.
What is? What are your duties?
My job is to coordinate all the actions that I outlined in the previous question by organizing technical and human resources available to the hotel for it.
In those roles, do you think the job title is appropriate? If you had to name it, would you call this or otherwise?
In my case it is appropriate, since it is a position that - as I said - includes all actions related to online marketing. If we are to detail, ie the designation of responsibility for each action, I think the terms are unclear, especially Social Media Manager and Community Manager. In my opinion, Community Manager should refer to the person who manages a social community itself (for Magic Costablanca, RTM Hotels, Hosteltur ,...). On the other hand, Social Media Manager is managing the presence and reputation of the mark in all communities, blogs, forums, portals opinion which is likely to appear.
"In the hotel sector and has ever heard the figure of the Social Revenue Manager, ie someone who is able to manage prices based on social media in general, not just to market trends."
Do you think this type of work should be done in a personal capacity (a person with names) or corporate title (anonymously, on behalf of the company)?
The key is to achieve the highest possible level of personification. If the representative is a person with names and surnames, the embodiment already there by definition. If the company is represented corporate purposes, there that "embody" the brand everything we can. People (customers), speak with people, not brands.
For me, the best option would be to get user log in using the trade mark itself and the image was personified, that is, when they interact with you, I do believe you're a person, although the brand name appears. If this is not achieved, it is better to work with name and surname of the person doing
Web users identify the brands with advertising, and the ideal situation is to reverse this "image."
What others think that new professional demands of the Information Society, related with the media and new technologies?
For the moment, to my knowledge, the basic profiles are the four you indicated in Question, since they encompass all actions necessary to address this new environment. However, I am sure there will be new professional profiles. In the hotel sector and has ever heard the figure of the Social Revenue Manager, ie someone who is able to manage prices based on social media in general, not just to market trends. And concepts are also used as "innovation unit" or "Business Intelligence Management." I do not know what will appear over time, but I'm sure new figures come out today, still no suspect.

No, I think the name correctly, however the creation of new environments create new jobs, is what has happened to the Communitty Manager, which the Castilian would AERC Online Community Managers.

"The Community Manager no longer the" visible face-on line "of the company, so I think it should be fully identified and accessible"
What is your exact fee?
My exact fee, or rather what reads on my business card, is ieCommunities Managing Director, where is the virtual community ieCommunities IE Business School.
What is? What are your duties?
The truth is that it is not easy to answer this question due to lack of "location" of such positions within companies, but in a generic way could say that my main functions are intended to support, enhance and in a way, to defend the IE Business School relationships with our customers in the digital realm. For that I have to know and identify the interests and needs of our customers and align with the needs and the strategic considerations of the company. That is, a set of objectives and act accordingly to achieve them.
Though I'd rather define myself as a kind strategic consultant "expert" in virtual communities and everything related to the concept 2.0, which transmits, or at least try, this philosophy to other areas of the organization.
In those roles, do you think the job title is appropriate? If you had to name it, would you call this or otherwise? There
positions as Social Media Optimizer, Head of Social Marketing and Interactive Marketing Director of Social Media, Community Product Manager and Web Strategist that could fit in some posts that describe how this type of functionality. However, my belief in this field and considering my position as Secretary General of AERCO (English Association of Online Communities), the most appropriate name should be the Community Manager or Head of Online Community.
on whether my position is more correct or not, being very purists may not be, but it is true that is pretty close to reality.
"I'd rather define myself as a strategic consultant
kind of" expert "in social networks and on everything related to the concept
2.0, which transmits, or at least try, this philosophy to the rest
areas of the organization. "
I think the Community Manager, or the meaning you want to give the post, no longer the "on-line visible face" of the company, so I think it should be fully identified and accessible. Since, in the virtual world is listening, responding, informs and connector between the client and the company when necessary.
What else do you think new professional demands of the Information Society, related to communication and new technologies?
usually demand profiles are specialized in Social Media, Virtual Communities and Social Networks, with experience or training in marketing and communication, to be creative, innovative and closely related to the worldwide Internet and new technologies. This brief description
bloom some of the posts mentioned above as well as others that will appear probably due to the speed with which the world advances in this field.
To give some concrete examples, always in my view and opinion we can say that the position of Community Manager, along with Social Media Manager / Optimizer may be the most popular. Others such as Digital Content Manager, Virtual Communicators or even Web Project Manager in 2.0/Virtual Communities, can start making whole the Information Society.

"In this field we evolve our profiles according to the evolution of the Internet"
What is your position accurate? Community Manager
What is? What are your duties?
work in a digital marketing agency and consultancy on the one hand and social networking communities for brands. Project conceptualization, definition of the community strategy, training and coordination of the moderating team / community. Study strategy (positioning and social media campaigns) and monitoring of ORM for brands and communities.
In those roles, do you think the job title is appropriate? If you had to name it, would you call this or otherwise?
guess it would be something like Community and social media director, but is not something that worries me, because tomorrow it could be something else. In this field evolve our profiles according to the evolution of the Internet. It is absurd to pigeonhole or older stay in securities that tomorrow they will die or be replaced by otros.Soy more supportive of general cargo.
"Many of these new profiles are existing posts
what they need is to master the Internet, and especially the social web,
as a means of communication."
Do you think this type of work should made a personal capacity (a person with names) or corporate title (anonymously, on behalf of the company)?
As a consultant I have name, as community manager depends on the objectives of the community, yet they are often supported the role of users, not those who work behind.
What others think that new professional demands of the Information Society, related to communication and new technologies? Moderators
, content, online PR, and all that comes to mind. But the reality is that many of them are existing positions that they need is to master the Internet, and especially the social web as a means of communication.

"The role of Community Manager should always be done on a personal basis, because all communication, even if you have the umbrella of the company about you, it is conducted by people "
What is your exact fee?
Complicated as we are small, you touch all the issues. I like the Social Media Expert (SME), but it is very flamboyant. I really like the term of Chief Blogging Officer, but assumed to be more involved in the drafting of content, it would be the editor or editorial director means we have to monitor the work of the editors, although the term recognized by the company, and whoever else is listening, it would the Community Manager, for all that encompasses.
What is? What are your duties?
supposed to be the person behind the media, and company image online. Means giving life to the blog of creative Territory. On the other hand, is seeing the needs of customers on their way to social media campaigns, and the best way they can take that step. It has a bit of an evangelist, to show that is not worth taking any step, that this is a process and the actions are related. Not to create something and upload it to the network, more businesses have come to understand and appreciate. And those are.
In those roles, do you think the job title is appropriate? If you had to name it, would you call this or otherwise?
always have to put a name to the office because the party is best viewed with who is speaking. Right now, is to define and demonstrate that when a company is dedicated to a strategy of this kind, not fixed to have a person for everything. It is not the same as a Community Manager, a Chief Blogging Officer, a Social Media Expert or editorial director, each performs a specific function, which may overlap, but not always given the very mejor.Soy not translate terms, especially when these are well understood.
"My job is to see the needs of customers on their way to make
Social Media campaigns, and the best way they can take that step.
has a bit of an evangelist, to show that it does not give any step, this
is a process and the actions are related. "
Do you think this type of work should be a personal capacity (a person with names) or corporate title (anonymously, on behalf of the company)?
always a personal capacity, because all communication, even if you have the umbrella company for you, this is done by people. Like it or not, your message will be linked to one with which you work. That includes the pseudonym, but has name, or identifiable with someone physically.
What others think that new professional demands of the Information Society, related to communication and new technologies?
addition to that I have mentioned in your question, the greatest growth profile now is the Web Analyst, now central to any strategy to prepare for the future. This figure will be the X-ray will give us about how we are, and what steps we need to assess the future ... That is, profiles that are suing are the Web analytics expert, Chief Blogging Officer Community Manager, Social Media Expert and Editorial Director ..., each with clearly defined functions.
Finally, we find another figure. This is the Trafficker. Or what is the same, a person straddling the commercial and technical department. For business, is that they understand and adserver says if there is inventory and ensures that the campaigns they have sold is fit correctly. For technicians, is that person who does not understand that since javascript is wrong here and need to close a tag. In practice it is the department that is responsible for all advertising campaigns start when they start, they display correctly on all browsers, all impressions do you have to do and also have the best possible results.

Hiv Symptoms The Next Day?
start the week with the publication of a series of interviews I did for the study on the new job profiles that demands Information Society and whose first findings published earlier this month , and pointed to the figure of Community Manager is the profile claimed in Information Society.
As I indicated then, they have made this investigation a total of 50 people, through their participation. In sectors such as communication and marketing, not visible on the Internet can be synonymous with losing a job opportunity. More than once I have heard from managers in this area commenting that if they hire an employee or a worker, in addition to the CV, are interested in having a basic knowledge of the network, and be present in it (digital reputation management) is a first step to prove it.
also the last Cava & Twitts focused on the job 2.0. Although I could not attend, Senior Manager and Antonio Guerrero good summaries have been published.

Moreover, refer to the thesis of Toni Sellas , The voice of Web 2.0. Analysis of the context, challenges and opportunities of podcasting in the context of acoustic communication is available in pdf through Doctoral Theses in Xarxa. One of the conclusions of this work is that "podcasting is a change in the acoustic communication scenario in which the radio loses the exclusive."
Toni explains that "this thesis is a conceptual study of podcasting, an analysis of its present and its potential in the context of acoustic communication. It is divided into two parts. The first is an exposition of the sociological and technological context in which podcasting was born and a description of the object of study, which is a very recent phenomenon born in late 2004 in the United States. The second part consists of an analysis of the use of podcasting by the traditional media, an examination of thematic universe of podcasting and a figure study of independent podcasters. "

Javier Piedrahita, director of MarketingDirecto.com, resume in his column in the Community ICEMD the main conclusions of Neuromarketing Annual Congress held in Munich in April. What interested me most of his post is a presentation by Dr. Hans-Georg Häusel (author of Neuromarketing) , an expert in these matters. Explain how important it is that the mark is emotional and motivational proper positioning.
"BrainBrands, brands that are in the brain of the consumer, activate important motivational structures in the brain. But one should know what emotional systems are activated. The limbic system, which is the emotional system of the brain, consists of three active systems: the domination that promotes the advancement and power, the stimulation, which pushes to discover new things, and balance, which inclines individuals to security and trust. "
As an example, Häusel apply" the emotional map product category "mineral water", "continues Javier in his chronicle," to find out how to produce the increase in value of a product that initially has a value of 13 euro cents per liter and can be sold for 7,900 cents liter, as with Bling brand water. For mineral water reaches this price, must be in a range of emotional and motivational camps. Because mineral water not only meets needs physiological but also emotional needs. The product "water" appeal to the rule (reinforcement, strength, revitalizing), the stimulation (pleasure, refreshing) and balance (health, body control, release). "
You can see the first part of the summary , and over the next few weeks will be publishing more about this Congress. Also available are seven videos in German .
Moreover, a few days ago ABC published an interesting article on how to successfully manage a brand on the Internet? , which includes statements by Marc polite. A good way to inaugurate a new section in this newspaper: Media and Networks, which will be closely monitored.
In the interview, Marc insists that "to manage a brand on the internet is essential to have a plan", which we have already heard many times but it never hurts to remember, especially in a mass medium as is ABC, which allows to reach readers who do not follow the blogosphere. Of course, warns: "This plan is not closed, but on the contrary, is a process of" continuous tuning ', and in this sense, it must "go tweaking and revising because the objectives may change, ecosystem Internet and that network can change where you are well positioned and where your brand is recognized and used to be very reputed to be stopped now. "

and Francesc Grau Daniel Ponte last few weeks have been a flash-research (a prompt) on the uses of Twitter and Facebook and the reasons that motivate users to use a platform or another. The authors Visibility wanted to participate in this experiment, as we announced in @ visibility.
have already published the results, you can see on the blog Francesc Grau and the Slideshare presentation posted above. It seems that Twitter is oriented towards relationships of professional interest and Facebook is still the preferred place for the most personal: contact with friends, former colleagues or ...
Study Research such as this are interesting because they help to objectify something we've done as much ours as 2.0 tools. In this area many times we rely on "common knowledge" when explaining the use of a platform or another, and experiments like this help to lay a more scientific and theoretical (input accepting that there are limits) on this phenomenon. Do not you think?

Horse Ringworm Images
I have the luck to be part of the pilot of UOC ALUMNI-Social Media Co-Lab, the community of graduates of the Universitat Oberta de Catalunya (thanks Mary and Javier for telling me!). The presentation and first meeting was held last week at the headquarters of Av Tibidabo, with a video of first level: the social networking expert Howard Rheingold, author of Smart Mobs . The next social revolution , spoke of the challenges of social networks.
What should be considered for a network work? According to Rheingold, is important:
- Finding the "social object", that which unites all members of the network. What is your interest? This interest will lead all the sections that are created in the network.
- Trying to balance the space dedicated to learning and entertainment, where people can joke and have fun. We must create a space for each person, so that users find your site.
You can watch the full video at the beginning of this post or through the channel UOC YouTube.

As you recall, I wondered: What new professional demands of the Information Society? Profile Manager communities and social networks (Community Manager) is the most cited in 56% of cases. Followed, although a considerable distance, the profiles of chief marketing and online public relations (unified in a single charge), and the charge of digital reputation, which have been proposed for 14% of the participants.
I think the results confirm a growing trend in the employment picture now more and more companies understand the importance of managing your digital reputation, in the same way they manage their offline reputation for some time now. And if not, to be told to Domino's Pizza, thanks to a good online reputation management could be successful out of the crisis that recently lived . However, to be seen how the current economic downturn affect these profiles emerging.
I take this opportunity to thank everyone who participated in the investigation, 50 in total: 16 answers through the blog comments, 14 through the survey, 2 replies on Twitter, 4 interviews via e-mail long, 11 short interviews via email and 3 shares through social networks. Without you, this study would not have been possible:)
Although the survey side of the blog is now closed, some people keep sending me the answers by e-mail. The first phase of the study is closed, but I have yet to delve into the second part, more qualitative, so that all responses received will be part of the final study. Keep you informed.

"There is one generation web. Web generations are spread throughout the age range and traditional cultures. "
" The speed of technological change creates, probably, some mindsets 'digitized'. "
" Today, all generations converge the network, but this does not imply the emergence of a universal society of dialogue. "
" seems to have reached the end of mass culture. (...) In the media have spent half the self . "
The context has changed and is changing, because society is undergoing continuous change. Given these changes, new needs, both business and personal. As an example, the need to manage reputation online. On this subject, you know that particularly interests me (there is Visibility ), will be discussed in Madrid on Friday in the Days Digital Presence Management. We look forward to the conclusions.

reach initial conclusions, take the opportunity to share some hints of what was discussed last Thursday in Today is Marketing. Leading the uncertainty: innovation and marketing in its purest form. The key ESIC Marketing. It is the first time attending this annual event ESIC and it was worth, although I must admit that, as usual, some speakers shone more than others.
The conference focused on new ways of interacting with customers. We talked about Consumering (Javier Rovira) and opportunities offered by new technologies by companies such as Vueling (Vicenç Martí, Chief Marketing Officer) , Nespresso (Vincent Termote, General Director of Iberia Nespresso) Catch (Silvia Carreño, Social Media Manager) and Facebook (Laura González-Stephanie, Country Marketing Manager of Facebook Spain). Highly recommend
summary of IP Channel and some videos on YouTube recorded during the sessions ( and more videos of the sessions in other English cities ).
Does the idea that best sums up the conference? Consumers are changing and companies must change with them. New technologies are no longer an option but a must.
In case you are interested in the subject, people ESIC has launched a blog today is marketing and is now on sale the book of the day which was held last year on new markets, new customers, new solutions , which includes a DVD with all the papers.

Social Security, Nj, Name Change, Marriage
Yesterday I was first in Launcher and I loved it, both for conference Marc Cortez as it helped me to Maria Ripoll devirtualize and Encarna Batet , and to reconnect with colleagues and Senior Manager, Veronica Aimar , Eva Sanagustín , Xavi ...
Güell Jordi Pérez served as moderator and presenter, Marc spoke of "Social Media for Entrepreneurs" (see his presentation at the beginning of post). Perhaps seeing this title think the issue is not going with you ("If I am not an entrepreneur"), but Marc gave a definition of entrepreneur you may be surprised: "When we went on the internet, we are all entrepreneurs. Embark on an adventure with a purpose, if only to occupy your free time. " Are you interested in the topic then? Marc
highlighted four key points of a Social Media Plan:
- have defined objectives
- Choose positioning
- Listening and Speaking
- measurement (to know if the plan is working)
Best of all is that explained how to make a Social Media Plan based on personal experience and it gave a great impetus to The meeting, which was overloaded with examples and also included the participation of some of the attendees.
Some ideas to remember:
- is important to link the virtual to the physical world.
- must understand the Internet ecosystem, which consists of many sub-ecosystems.
- is important that action 2.0 are integrated in a plan (in isolation, do not make sense).
- How long should I dedicate to my blog? Depending on what you want out of it.
Planning and active listening are the keys to online crisis management. Senior Manager
